Iconic cap company New Era has been holding Hip Hop heads down since day one. Friday, Migos headlined the apparel giant’s “Planet New Era” Super Bowl LI private celebration at club Vrsi in Houston. Special musical performers 2 Chainz and Lil Uzi Vert joined star-studded guests like Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, Pittsburgh Steelers star Le’Veon Bell, New York Jets wide-out Brandon Marshall, and Minnesota Vikings receiver and return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson on a special night. DJ Ace – son of Hollywood legend Will Smith – impressed many in attendance as the resident party DJ. Texas legend Bun B hosted the event.

Considered rap’s first super-group in years, Migos – whose crew chemistry and chart dominance evokes memories of a time when cool cliques like Dipset, Wu Tang, Outkast, and G-Unit ran Hip Hop, performed several of their hit songs on the night, including: “Bad & Boujee,” “T-Shirt,” “Casting Call” and “Emmitt Smith”. A week earlier, Migos released their second studio album “Culture“.
