When Roc Nation-repped soul starlet Justine Skye released her critically acclaimed, music lover appreciated EP 8 ounces earlier this year, quite a few R&B imbalanced non-believers became rock steady fans. The nine song jewel of a project was written and produced by legendary hit-maker The-Dream and proudly announced the beautiful Brooklyn native’s official debut with the iconic imprint.

Recently, Skye teamed up with Boys Meets Girl athleisure brand creator Stacy Igel at the Colette store in Paris for the emerging style maven’s pop-up showcase. Introduced was the hot girl line’s collaboration with Care Bears, a colorful and creative offering that sold out in hours. “This event exceeded my expectations. It was a dream for me to see the windows in Colette covered in Boy Meets Girl,” begins Igel. “The crowd was amazing. Fans came from all over Paris just to take pictures. That feeling is absolutely incredible,” the designer continues. “Overall, it was a huge success.”
Skye, 21, who performed select songs from her latest EP, was pleased to find hundreds of her French fans standing in a line that wrapped around the entire block waiting to hear the popular purple-haired pretty person perform. Donning a Care Bears 35th Anniversary t-shirt with a signature Boy Meets Girl Denim jacket, Skye shared her surprise and excitement with the warm reception she received from her Parisian counterparts: “I am so excited to be here performing again for Boy Meets Girl fans,” the singer began. “I worked with Stacy on one of my first New York Fashion Week performances ever, the brand simply fits into my street and performance style. It’s great to be partnering again and now in Paris at Colette,” she continued. “I wasn’t aware of all the fans that I have in Paris.” Next stops for Skye include fashion week appearances in London and Milan.
