He stands as one of the greatest lyricist’s in music history, a graphic storyteller whose albums read aloud like crime scene books on police tape. As a result of his prolific output, we’ve all been on personal tours of Staten Island’s grittiest gangland’s via our engagement with Ghostface Killah‘s classic material. Albums like “Ironman”, “Supreme Clientele”, and “Bulletproof Wallets” feature cinematic storytelling, unparalleled lyricism, and his signature non-sequitur seasoned streams-of-consciousness – a half fictive, half factual free flowing slang expressed with Griot-like efficacy, symbolic spontaneity, comedic timing, and emotive imagery. Guy is good, real good. Yea, Ghost’s raps are worth their weight in gold bars. He recently performed at Nashville’s Exit/In as part of the Red Bull Sound Select series. Check out a few DOPE images below and be on the look out for big homie’s 13th studio album, the globally anticipated “Supreme Clientele Presents… Blue & Cream: The Wally Era”. Hip Hop could def use a new dose of ghostly pseudo-reality.
