(Andrea Aguilar: AA) You still made the time to go to college even though you had dreams of being in entertainment. How has higher learning helped your career?

(Meagan Tandy: MT) It helps you get through life period. I would say for acting…there’s acting classes, acting schools or things of that nature that I focused on, but as far as just school, going to Cal Poly Pomona and working on my education for Business Administration gives you the reassurance you have something to fall back on and basically lets you know. “I’ve got the skills. I’ve been educated. I know that I can do it.” I know that I can do what I need to do if I want to create my own production company which I would love to do one day. I haven’t done so now, but in the future, I want to create a real production company in this industry. I would be able to take the things that I’ve learned at Cal Poly Pomona and be able to apply it to that.

(AA) Is it the pageant world as competitive as people think it is?

(MT) Oh, absolutely! My pageant career was very short. I started at the age of 19, and I was done at 21. The other girls…they started like at 9-years-old. To hear that…it makes you very competitive ‘cause when I was up there at 21, I was competing against girls who had been doing it since they were really, really young. They have this sense of entitlement that they deserve to win ‘cause they’ve been doing it longer than I have. It was fun while it lasted, but I’m so glad I’m not in it now.

(AA) What episode of Jane By Design has been your favorite so far?

(MT) Episode nine, I forgot the name of the episode, but it was when we all go camping. I just love it when we do night shoots. That ended up being a night shoot, and the theme was, “Let’s hang out. Let’s go camping.” It was also Lulu’s opportunity to step up to Billy and tell him she wasn’t happy with what was going on. She also goes and kisses somebody else. She’s a little scandalous in that episode, but it was fun to play. I really enjoyed it and fans of the show really liked that episode too.

(AA) Can you name a character portrayed in a movie or TV show that you would have loved to play?

(MT) Oh, goodness. That’s a hard one ‘cause there’s so many. I would love to be an action hero vixen or something like that. I would say maybe something with Angelia Jolie. She’s got the whole Salt thing going on. That was a really, really good movie, and they’re supposed to be doing another one. I really loved her character in that movie. Or even Zoe Saldana in Columbiana. It’s the women being the secret agents going out there trying to attack people. It seems like a lot of fun.

  2. You can certainly see your enthusiasm within the paintings you write. The sector hopes for more passionate writers such as you who aren’t afraid to mention how they believe. All the time follow your heart. “Billy Almon has all of his inlaw and outlaws here this afternoon.” by Jerry Coleman.
