Nicki Minaj is the biggest name in rap, remains one of the hottest artists in music, and stands among the most recognizable entertainer’s in the world. Since the double-platinum success of Minaj’s third album, 2014’s The Pinkprint – the sexy, witty, and wild MC’s third multi-platinum project – her brand access and business acumen has entered into tycoon territory. There’s the glam campaign with Roberto Cavalli, a streetwear line with Adidas Originals, her own cute and classy clothing line – The Nicki Minaj Collection, and her signature brand of Sangria and Moscato sip-ons called MYX Fusions, which just so happen to be the fastest growing wine beverage in America. Of all Minaj’s brand extensions, the most eagerly anticipated venture from the artist has yet to air. The rapper’s new bio-comedy, “Nicki”, based on her family’s immigration to Queens, New York from Trinidad began filming in January and will run on Freeform (formerly ABC Family).

Recently Minaj visited one of the many city’s claiming to love her more than any other, Las Vegas, to headline the official public opening of the new T-Mobile Arena. Minaj enlisted frequent collaborator Ariana Grande (“Get On Your Knees”, “Bang Bang”) as her special guest. The two performed Billboard hit after hit, with Grande establishing the evening’s energy by performing her new collaboration with Macy Gray “Leave Me Lonely”, and Minaj closing out the show before more than 20,000 fans by digitally painting the entire arena T-Mob’s favorite flavor, magenta, while riding out to the sounds of “Starships”. The enormous new venue is located in Paradise, Nevada, just west of the Las Vegas Strip. A joint venture between MGM Resorts and Anschutz Entertainment, a few big names slated to perform in the telecom giant’s new house are Guns N’ Roses, Janet Jackson, George Strait, WWE, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Coldplay. It’s only fitting that Minaj was the ideal artist to perform at the $375 million arena’s grand opening. She is the only woman ever recognized by Forbes as a top earner on its reputable Hip Hop Cash Kings list.
